Remove What Does Not Serve You

So much of our time is spent forming these attachments to material things, people places, thoughts, and emotions. Eventually, our lives become overwhelmed or overburdened with insignificant things that, at the end of the day, do NOT matter.

We experience suffering when we hold onto all that which does not serve us, but in a strange way, it seems quite comforting and familiar to hold onto these things. Thats because this mindset is rooted in fear, a fear that these attachments will not be replaced or will be gone from our lives if we let go.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

But, letting go of things that do not serve you is as simple as dropping the thoughts, emotions, people, or situations that take up space within you. The truth is, this space you free up will be filled with what does serve you as soon as you make that conscious decision to let go of that which no longer serves you.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

And when you are unattached, then you can experience inner freedom. You will recognize that you have no stake in a particular outcome, which means you will do what is essential in the moment. You’ll be able to explore every option, become more receptive to all new information, and honestly do all that you know you can do. That’s because you can trust your intentions and motivations because you have no attachment to either the result or how the result is produced.

The challenge to be aware of is that for many people, learning to detach from this essence of how life should unfold. It can be challenging and almost impossible to believe that something greater than us actually knows what’s best for you. Just remember, detachment does not mean apathy, in fact quite the opposite. Detachment means that we handover the process of life to a greater force that knows best on how to attend to our wants and needs.

Stand in a place of firm understanding and knowledge that everything you truly want and need will be delivered to you once you surrender control and allow your egoic nature to move out of the way.
